Search Tips

The Aloud.com search engine has been designed to enable you to find the exact events you're looking for as simply as possible. You can search by artist, date, period of time and town/venue or combine these elements to provide the results you are looking for.

Searching for specific artists/events

First select 'artist' or 'event' from the drop down menu - events include, festivals, exhibitions, and performances featuring multiple artists such as the Smash Hits Poll Winners' Party and Tour.

You can search by an artist by typing in any element of their artist name, but the more characters/letters you use, the more likely it is that you will find the exact event you are searching for. Generally you can find an artist/event effectively by entering the first 4/5 characters of their name. However, do not use 'The' when searching, instead focus on the following word. For example use 'Coral' to find The Coral.

If artists share an element of their name, for example Blue and The Bluetones, you will be served with an artist selection screen on which you can opt for your chosen artist.

If you receive an error message when searching for an artist it will be for one of three reasons:

  • You may have mis-spelt the name of the artist, in which case try a variation or restrict your search to the first 4 characters of the artist name.
  • Aloud.com may not be selling tickets for this particular event
  • The artist that you're searching may not have any future events currently on sale

Searching for events on a specific date(s)

To search for events that are occurring on a specific date you need to enter the same date in both the 'from' and 'to' elements of the date search. The date must be entered as laid out in the 'from' and 'to' field, so to help you we've provided a calendar. Use the > key to jump forward/back by month and the >> keys to jump forward/back by year.

To search for events that are occurring during a period of time (weekend/week/month etc) you can use the 'from' and to 'facility'. When using this facility you may have a very large number of events returned to you Ð particularly if you have selected a wide ranging time span. There is a limit on the number of results that can be returned, so you may have to search again using a shortened time span

For this reason you'll be able to search more effectively if you use the date facility together with an artist and/or town search. Particularly if the period you wish to search for is within the next 3 months.

When searching for events in London, it may be necessary to restrict your searches to one date per search, due to the large number of events that take place in the capital.

Searching for events near you

The majority of towns and cities with live music venues are located in the drop down menu. So simply scroll down the alphabetical list to find the location closest to you.

Alternatively if you cannot find the town/city you're searching for on the drop down menu you can enter it into the field provided.

When searching for events by location/venue we advise that you consider the following:

  • When searching in London you will have to also enter an artist or date in addition to the location search.
  • This may also be necessary when searching for events in other large cities.
  • Aloud.com features approximately 90% of all events in the UK, so we will not be able to provide a fully comprehensive list for each location (this particularly applies to Scotland).
  • Some large towns do not have a regular live music venue for signed, touring artists. As a result Aloud.com may not have any events listed in your chosen location.
  • Many popular artists only perform in arenas and when touring they will visit a selection of the following venues; Aberdeen Exhibition Centre, Birmingham N.E.C., Bournemouth B.I.C., Brighton Centre, Cardiff International Arena, Glasgow S.E.C.C., London Earl's Court, London Wembley Arena, London Arena (Docklands), Manchester M.E.N. Arena, Newcastle Telewest Arena, Nottingham Arena and Sheffield Arena. It is therefore recommended that you also search by which of these arenas is closest to you, in order to see which major artists are coming to your area.
  • When searching by venue name you will need to enter the full name of the venue correctly. If you're not certain of how to write this, we advise that you search by location as an alternative.
