Kasabian formed in 1999 in Leicestershire, UK and includes members Tom Meighan, Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews and Jay Mehler. Their self-titled debut album wasn’t released until 2004, but received positive reviews and charted at fourth place in the UK Albums Chart. Four singles were released off this album, with their third, ‘Club Foot’, bringing the band critical and commercial success.

Kasabian’s second album Empire was released in 2006, with the title track being their first release from it. This reached number nine in the UK Singles Chart, continuing their success in the indie rock genre.

The five-piece have won many awards since the beginning of their musical career, with an NME Award for Best Live Band in 2007, a BRIT Award for Best British Group and a Q Award for Best Act in the World Today both in 2010. Their music has also been featured in many video games including Tony Hawk’s Project 8, Pro Evolution Soccer 5, Gran Turismo 4 and FIFA 2004.

Their third album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum was released in 2009 and spent two weeks at number one in the UK Albums Chart earning them a Q Award for Best Album in 2009 and appearing on the shortlist for a Mercury Prize.

Kasabian have begun work on their fourth studio album and have a tour coming up, including many festival appearances at events such as Rockness in Inverness, Isle of Wight Festival and Rockwerchter in Belgium.
