Anna supported acts such as Interpol and Arctic Monkeys at their UK shows in 2010, which led to Nick Cave requesting that she support Grinderman across Europe in October 2010.

Anna Calvi is particularly known for her live performances, with a unique guitar technique involving hitting the strings rather than strumming up and down. Her passionate, dramatic stage presence is heightened with her choice of ‘costume’ – channelling a vibe of Flamenco she dons the male ensemble of high trousers and blouse rather than the frilly dresses of the women.
