Indie rock band Arctic Monkeys formed in Sheffield in 2002 and includes members Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley and Matt Helders. Their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not was released in 2006 and immediately impressed fans and critics, becoming the fastest selling debut album for a band in the UK, even surpassing Definitely Maybe by Oasis.

Arctic Monkeys’ following two albums Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007) and Humbug (2009) were also successful, with Favourite Worst Nightmare going straight to number one on the UK Albums Chart, achieving double platinum status and winning a BRIT Award for Best British Album in 2008.

Their upcoming album Suck It And See will be released in June, already eagerly anticipated due to the success of lead single ‘Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair’ which was released in April.

Arctic Monkeys' first UK live dates since November 2009 are being staged in a specially constructed tent at Sheffield’s Don Valley Stadium on June 10/11th. On June 10th they're being supported by Miles Kane (who Alex Turner collaborated with on The Last Shadow Puppets) and The Vaccines. On June 11th they're being supported by Miles Kane and Anna Calvi. This will be followed with a huge European tour, including a performance at Benicassim Festival in Spain on 17th July.
