The band born out of new material recorded by members of Thin Lizzy have confirmed a UK tour to accompany the release of a debut Black Star Riders album.
The songs for the Black Star Riders album were written and demoed by Thin Lizzy lead guitarist Scott Gorham, original Thin Lizzy drummer Brian Downey, longtime keyboard player Darren Wharton, bass guitarist Marco Mendoza, and vocalist and occasional guitarist Ricky Warwick. The other lead guitarist role was initially filled by Vivian Campbell, then by Richard Fortus, before Damon Johnson joined the band in August 2011.
The original intention was to release new material under the Thin Lizzy name, but out of respect to the memory of the late Phil Lynott, a new name for the project was chosen.
Downey and Wharton subsequently opted not to move forward with the project so the Black Star Riders line up that will release the album, titled 'All Hell Breaks Loose' and head out on the debut Black Star Riders tour is: Gorham and Johnson on lead guitar, Mendoza on bass guitar, with Warwick acting as vocalist and occasional guitarist. The band's drummer will be Jimmy DeGrasso.
The band have subsequently confirmed that the touring set will focus on 'All Hell Breaks Loose', but some Thin Lizzy classics will also be included!
