Bright Eyes is an American indie rock band consisting of front man Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nate Wallcott. Their career began with the release of debut album A Collection of Songs Written and Recorded 1995-1997. Although the critical reaction was fairly negative the fans were hooked and eager to see what else Bright Eyes would come up with.

It wasn't until the third album release Fevers and Mirrors in 2000 that the critics began to come around to their unique musical style - the album placed at 170 on Pitchfork Media's best 200 albums of the decade.

Global recognition came with the release of the 2002 album Lifted or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground. The album sold over 250,000 copies and labelled Bright Eyes as a significant new artist, despite performing under that moniker for years.

Further publicity came with the release of I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning in 2005, which charted straight in at #10 on the Billboard charts, and was listed by Time Magazine as one of the top ten albums of 2005.

The Bright Eyes tours have always proved very successful, and with their new album The People's Key released in February 2011 Conor Oberst and his band have been touring extensively to promote it. The next leg will begin on 16th June in Zurich, and end on 14th July in Manchester, so there will be plenty of opportunity to witness Conor's unique voice.
