California based American indie rock band Cold War Kids was formed in 2004 and consists of Matt Aveiro, Matt Maust, Johnnie Bo Russell and Nathan Willett. They started out in Johnnie’s apartment in downtown Fullerton above a restaurant called Mulberry St, which then became the title of their first EP released in 2005. The following year, after releasing two more EPs, Cold War Kids were snapped up by Downtown Records and released their debut album Robbers and Cowards in October 2006.

The indie rock band then spent two years on tour, building up a huge fan base and getting widely recognised in the industry. On their return to the US they relocated to Long Beach in California and began the process of writing and recording their second studio album Loyalty to Loyalty. This album was slightly darker than their previous music, and was very well received upon its release in 2008.
Appealing to the fans again Cold War Kids then spent the end of 2008 and most of 2009 touring in promotion of Loyalty to Loyalty. Part of this tour included headlining acts by Death Cab For Cutie and was massively popular, paving the way for Cold War Kids to reach global recognition.
Cold War Kids released their new album Mine Is Yours in January 2011 and will be performing on 16 May at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire.
