The master of psychological illusion, Derren Brown started his career in 1999, with the airing of his first TV show Derren Brown: Mind Control launching him into the public eye in 2000. Since then he has become a public figure for his mind-reading acts. However he has never credited his ability to anything to do with paranormal or psychic practises, saying he just has an intense skill to read slight body language signals and subtle psychological signs that indicate what a person is thinking, using this information to influence people's thoughts with very subtle suggestion.

His various TV programmes showcasing his mentalist and mind-reading skills have always proved very popular with the public. A couple of his more famous stunts were the Derren Brown Plays Russian Roulette Live stunt in 2003 and one series called Derren Brown: The Events in 2009 where one episode involved him incapacitating viewers, making them think that they couldn't move from their chairs.

His latest tour Svengali is massively extensive, stretching from a performance in Norwich on 12th April all the way to the middle of July where he will wrap up his 2011 tour in London's Shaftesbury Theatre on 16th.
