The BRITISH SUMMER TIME IN HYDE PARK festival on Friday 12th July will celebrate a great evening of British songwriters as three of the country's finest take to The Great Oak Stage with the Grammy Award-winning legend Elton John and his band as the headline act. Added to the bill will be the legendary former-Kinks frontman, Ray Davies and the outstanding Elvis Costello performing full sets with their own bands in the run up to Sir Elton and his band.

Across Hyde Park, the 3 other event stages will see some brilliant singer-songwriter talent play - the cream of established and younger talent from UK and the US.

At The Barclaycard Unwind Theatre, fans will hear the unmistakable chords of Nick Lowe - English singer-songwriter, producer and collaborator of Elvis Costello - as well as Lucy Rose, a former backing singer with Bombay Bicycle Club who released her first solo album to great acclaim last September and founding member of Del Amitri, Justin Currie.

American singer-songwriter, Tift Merrit will feature at The Village Hall alongside British folk/rock band To Kill A King.

Finally, The Bandstand will see Thea Gilmore as headline act, described by Mojo magazine as "the most coherent, literate and charged British singer-songwriter of her generation".

She is joined by Grammy and Golden Globe nominee and one time Beyonce collaborator, Scott McFarnon and Olivia Sebastianelli who has recently been heralded as an artist brimming with talent, originality and musical eloquence.

Elton John and the band will alson bring their unique and unforgettable live show to the new Leeds Arena, England, next September - the first time in nearly 30 years that Elton and his band have performed in Leeds.

The concert will take place on Wednesday 4 September 2013. The fully reserved seated concert will give 12,000 fans the opportunity to dance and sing along to his much-loved songs in this new state of the art arena.

Elton said:

“It is difficult to believe that it has taken so long for such a large city to get its own arena, but it has certainly been worth the wait. I am delighted to have been invited to be one of the first artists to perform in what will be a wonderful new venue. I recently played to incredible audiences in North Yorkshire, but this will be the first time I have played Leeds with the band since 1984 when I played at the Queens Hall, so I am really looking forward to playing to the City of Leeds once again.”

As one of the greatest and most successful live artists, Elton's spectacular stage shows continue to leave the competition standing! His live performance of over two hours will comprise many hits from an incredible back catalogue, including such classics as 'Bennie and The Jets', 'Crocodile Rock' and 'Your Song'.

His most recent project opened last September in Las Vegas with the return of Elton to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and a brand new show, 'The Million Dollar Piano', billed as "a gargantuan feast of music and imagery". The Million Dollar Piano is set for a three-year residency at The Colosseum, and Elton's second as a Caesars Palace headliner.

On October 8 2011, Elton celebrated his 3000th live concert since his touring days began in 1969 and he shows no sign of slowing up.
