Welsh rock band Lostprophets formed in 1997 and have racked up a huge fan base, numerous awards and nominations and four successful studio albums.

After their beginnings the band went on a brief UK tour while releasing three demos. They quickly caught the eye of Independent label Visible Noise who snapped them up to a record deal in 1999. Since then they frequently tour all over the world, appealing to their fans and becoming known for their brilliant live shows.

Lostprophets’ debut album Thefakesoundofprogress was released in November 2000, after taking less than two weeks to record. It went on to become the band’s breakthrough album – selling 120,000 copies in US, certified platinum in the UK and reaching high positions on charts all over the world.

During this time they supported many huge acts such as Linkin Park, Deftones and went on a brief European tour with Muse. Lostprophets also performed at Ozzy Osbourne’s Ozzfest with acts such as Slayer and System of a Down.

Lostprophets are no strangers to accolades, having won an NME Award for Best Metal Act in 2002, various Pop Factory Awards and seven Kerrang! Awards. These include Best British Newcomer in 2001, Best British Band in 2006 and 2007 and most recently The Classic Songwriter Award in 2010.
