RESISTANZ FESTIVAL 2013 WEEKEND Tickets

Resistanz is the brainchild of Corporation’s Phyll Pearman and Leighton James-Thompson. The first Resistanz Festival took place in Sheffield UK at the infamous Corporation venue (Corporation is one of the top 3 live band venue and alternative music nightclubs in the UK) over the weekend of April 2nd/3rd 2011. A year in planning the objective was simple, establish a line up of bands and dj’s every bit as strong as some of the more established festivals throughout the world, and covering the many subgenres in the modern day industrial scene.

The outcome was 14 bands from synthpop legends (And One – Covenant ) to pounding industrial acts (Suicide Commando – SAM), UK and European exclusives, an official festival cd and merch, stalls and 5 big afterparties with 15 dj’s playing everything from modern day industrial club hits, classic EBM, synthpop and electro to hardhouse and hardstyle. On top of all this there where some very special guests and surprises including Phill Barry of Cubanate on stage with Caustic performing Oxcyacetaline, Stewart Who on stage with XP8 covering the hard dance classic Twisted, Deviant UK joined onstage by new friends Uberbyte for a storming rendition of Scooter’s Always Hardcore, Adam of Lab4 fame coming out of retirement for a special dj set, the epic dj 3 way featuring Dj Hive (Vampire Party) Dj Tommi K (Autobody) and Thomas Rainer (Nachtmahr), plus the many many onstage collaborations.

Described by many as the best weekend of their lives, Resistanz Festival clearly left its mark on the industrial scene in 2011.

Planning for 2012′s event started a mere 2 weeks after 2011′s event and took place on April 7th – April 8th 2012 and was a complete sellout (not bad for a festivals second year). Another hugely impressive line up of some of the scenes very best live acts and dj’s from all over the world where once again assembled. Icon Of Coil returned to the UK for a special exclusive show, Ultraviolence played their first show in seven years and shook Corporations very foundations, a number of bands made UK first and European first appearances including WASTE, Detroit Diesel and FGFC820 and the after party DJ’s kept the crowd moving well into the early hours. There where also more areas, more stalls, more DJ’s and more bands than the festivals debut event. If 2011′s festival left it’s mark on the industrial scene then 2012′s event put one hell of a stomp on it!

And so onto Resistanz 2013, planning is well underway and the third Resistanz Festival promises to once again build on the success of previous events. Already announced early on is the Friday night “Resistanz Escalation Party”, a showcase of some of festival sponsors Deathwatch Asia’s finest acts: Alien Vampires, C-Lekktor, CygnosiC and Surgyn!
