THE PIERCES Tickets

The Pierces lined up a one-off performance in the comparatively intimate and stunning setting of Union Chapel, Islington, London on June 26th.

Catherine and Allison Pierce make up New York based band The Pierces. Formed in Alabama in 2000 the sisters have created a fairytale story about their lives, which fits perfectly in with their Tim Burton-esq music and creepy lyrics.

As children, The Pierces were heavily exposed to creativity and the arts, learning to dance and sing as soon as they could walk and talk. While they were at Auburn University a friend sent one of their tapes to a record company in Nashville, which eventually led to the release of their first album The Pierces in 2000. With a lack of support from their label the album didn't reach its full potential, and the sisters ended their contract in order to search for a better partnership.

After signing with Universal their second album Light of the Moon was released in 2005 and was much better received. It wasn't until they released Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge that The Pierces began to receive critical acclamation from TV shows, with tracks 'Three Wishes' and 'Secret' appearing on Gossip Girl, and 'Secret' being featured in a promo for Dexter. This song is also the theme music for Pretty Little Liars.

With a new album You & I set to be released in March 2011 The Pierces will be playing at Magic Summer Live with Elton John and Rumer.
