With latest single 'Hang Up' picking up plaudits and airplay, The Ting Tings have lined up their biggest headline gig in the capital in more than two years.

Tickets for The Ting Tings gig at The Scala will be available on Aloud.com from 9AM on FRIDAY Feb 3rd.

Renowned for their artistic edge the band are on a mission to discover and champion new UK talent from the world of music, art, fashion and film.

They’re giving students the chance to create fashion items for them to wear, make a music video, mix their tracks and come up with poster and artwork designs. The work will then be used and showcased by Katie and Jules at each venue.

The Ting Tings, made up of Jules De Martino (drums, lead guitar, bass guitar, vocals, piano) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drums, bass guitar, cow bells) formed in Salford, UK in December 2007.

They are probably most well known for their debut single ‘That’s Not My Name’ which charted straight at number one in the UK Singles Chart on 18 May 2008. The album We Started Nothing was released the following day and also went straight to number one.

The Ting Tings had a notable performance at Glastonbury Festival in 2007, and after a brief tour of the universities with Reverend and the Makers in October 2007 they were quickly snapped up by Columbia Records.

Other early acclamations include ranking third in the BBC 6 Music poll of ‘Sound of 2008’ and a nomination for Best New Artist at the 52nd Grammy Awards in 2009. Since then they have received countless awards and nominations, including ‘Best UK Video’ for ‘Shut Up and Let Me Go’ at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 and ‘Anthem of the Summer’, ‘Best Newcomer Award’ and ‘Festival Pop Act at the UK Festival Awards 2008.

With a new album in the pipeline, set for a 2011 release The Ting Tings will be back with various festival dates and tickets will undoubtedly sell out quickly.
