Warpaint is an all girl quartet from Los Angeles formed in 2004. The band focuses its sound on dreamy indie and art rock influences, giving the girls a unique style that is causing them to achieve massive critical acclaim including a nomination for the BBC’s Sound of 2011 poll.

The group has gone through many line up changes in the past, including members such as actress Shannyn Sossamon and current Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. The current line up is Emily Kokal, Theresa Wayman, Jenny Lee Lindberg and Stella Mozgawa.

Warpaint released their debut EP Exquisite Corpse in early 2009, and saw immediate success with it soaring straight to number one on Los Angeles’ local artists chart. It has also been described as ‘a collection of magical psychedelia drifting over sublime moments of raw melody courtesy of the three free ethereal vocalists'. In the autumn of 2009 the band were signed to Rough Trade records, and began touring extensively, including a supporting slot for The xx.

The follow up debut full-length album The Fool was then released in October 2010 and received an excellent review in the NME. Their first single from this album ‘Shadows’ was recently revealed to become Warpaint’s first official single release and was available as a digital download and on 12" vinyl on 10th January 2011.
