Cypress Hill are set to play a very special show in the UK as part of their European tour before hitting the festival circuit this summer. The American hip hop group from South Gate, California, are set to play at the London HMV Forum on Tuesday 5th June.
Across nine albums that have sold over 20 million copies worldwide, the group redefined and shattered the boundaries of hip-hop, crafting gutter-dirty tracks that fused deep bass lines with blissful, stoned-out melodies and aggressive hard rock riffs. After forging the merger of rap and rock in the early part of their career as well as experimenting with countless styles through the years, it's time for the next step in the seminal group's continuing evolution.
The band are set to release an EP this month with Dubstep DJ/Producer Rusko. The 5-track EP was recorded over six months, with Rusko entering the studio with the group and working via e-mail when crazed touring schedules prevented the collaborators from working directly with each other.
"I think dubstep is a natural progression of hip-hop,"says Sen Dog. "Especially the way that we formulated it with Rusko, there's definitely some roughness to it."
