Welsh comedian Rhod Gilbert began his comedy career in 2002, making his mark as an award winning comedian within 18 months.

His first solo show at Edinburgh Fringe in 2005 was titled '1984' and earned him a nomination for the Perrier Newcomer award. Since then he has also took home the BBC New Comedy Award, the Paramount Gift Of The Gag competition and the Leicester Comedy Festival comedian of the year title. His 2008 Edinburgh show was also nominated for the if.comedy award, and led to appearances on Live At The Apollo and the 80th Royal Variety Performance.
